An absolute highlight of 2023 courtesy of the Sierra Leone born and NYC based artist Lamina Fofana.

The A-side title-cut delivers a bubbling, squelchy, acid-house/funk/braindance 4/4 club stormer whilst ’Lines And Speed Decay In My Voice’ on the flip offers some top-shelf, heavy mutant dancehall – a deep, heady, bogle-inducing, bassbin-threatening rework, nicely laced through with snatches of disorienting, indecipherable cut-up vocals.

The EP rounds off with ’Alter-Destiny’, a cosmic, afro-futurist ambient trip – again with snatches of vocals but this time they’re the focal point and it’s Sun Ra’s eerily prophetic ’Shape of the World Today’ speech.

Will Bankhead’s TTT imprint recently celebrated its 100th release – this one followed soon after – and as ever with this label, the unmatched quality-control shows no signs of waning. 100% essential stuff.
