In 2018 Orson delivered Version 10, a release that smartly evolved dubstep’s signature sound without diluting its essence. “Life Gamble” rides a dubstep pulse over dense low-end and echo-drenched textures, nodding to DMZ while leaning into the atmosphere of dub techno. “12:09” shifts the tempo down into house territory, yet retains a heavy, stomping feel — its slow-motion groove and wobbling synths making the classic sound feel revitalized. It’s a forward-thinking EP that reaffirmed both Orson’s vision and the ongoing possibilities of dubstep itself.
